Central Nervous System
The central nervous system, or CNS, is the main part of the nervous system, and plays an elemental role in the control of behavior, together with the closely interconnected peripheral nervous system. The CNS consists of the brain and the spinal cord. As a centrally integrated coordinating and regulatory organ, it serves to process information received by the body's sensory organs and to coordinate their activity.
